More about the project: In architecture, is increasingly going towards designing buildings of high energy efficiency and optimisation of existing ones. More than 16% of the whole electrical energy is spent on lighting in the building.

Daylight illumination is the lighting strength that comes from different directions to a certain point and is the intentional use of light to gain practical and aesthetic reasons. Natural sunlight in the interior is one of the main factors for comfortable and healthy living in the building. The goal is to have daylight in the depth of the rooms and inside of all areas of the rooms, and avoid glowing.

To determine daylight in the rooms in a building, a number of actions are used: analytical, graphical, computer and measurable – technical. This project uses the computer process with BIM for simulation of the approximate condition of daylight on the building and surrounding.

To understand how the Sun rays fall and overshadow the surrounding outside of the building and in the interior, depending on the geographical position, the time during the day, annual seasons and environmental conditions, the graphic construction of the shadows is made in the BIM building project. Compared to the seasons and weather conditions, the availability of the daylight is changing.

Glass surfaces have to be arranged so there is even daylight in all parts of the rooms, and those can be glass doors, glass windows and glass walls. To assess the quality of light, firstly the daylight, glitter, uniformity and dazzle must be simulated. To use the daylight in a more quality way, it is necessary to determine the building orientation and position, and the near surrounding of the building, then accommodation, orientation, shadows and position of the windows, as well as the ratio of the windows compared to the floor surface. Very important is the type of glass and amount of visible light through the glass surfaces.
